Ten-year-old Shayna Lehmann has
never had to stay in a hospital, but
she has a great deal of compassion
for kids who do.
Shayna is the driving force behind a program
being developed by Virtua Foundation for kids
who want to help other kids. She donated 15
inches of her hair to an organization that makes
wigs for kids with cancer and asked others to
pledge their support for each inch she cut.
Shayna’s story demonstrates that all gifts, no
matter the amount, can truly make a difference
at Virtua each day.
With the help of donations from family and
friends, and strangers inspired by her generosity,
she raised more than $1,300. Shayna designated
the funds to Virtua’s child life program and has
plans for additional fundraisers in the future.
